Electricity consumption grows in Nansha from January to May

From January to May, Nansha district saw the fastest growth rate in electricity consumption in Guangzhou.

Social electricity consumption in Nansha has surged, reaching 4.29 billion kilowatt-hours by the end of May, a year-on-year increase of 13.8 percent. The growth rate ranks first among all districts of Guangzhou, with the second and third industries growing by 10.33 percent and 25.91 percent, respectively.

In recent years, Nansha has been continuously optimizing its electricity business environment. Total social electricity consumption has exceeded 10 billion kilowatt-hours, with the average annual power outage time for customers reduced to just 15 minutes, ranking second in the national assessment of electricity business environments.

The Nansha power department has provided high-quality services for intelligent driving projects, facilitating their smooth progress. The Lixun intelligent driving control system is expected to achieve an annual output value of 10 billion yuan ($1,378 million), contributing to the development of Nansha's distinctive automobile industry base.

Additionally, the Nansha power department has been providing high-quality and fast electricity services for multiple projects, taking coordinated actions across departments to solve challenges faced by projects and accelerate their development.

In terms of smart grids, Nansha has introduced intelligent technologies such as intelligent transformer substations by Open Harmony IoT and the future city grid demonstration project, enhancing the intelligence level of the grid and realizing digitalization and green development. It has implemented the country's first intelligent operation and maintenance system for distribution networks, providing digital security for the construction of future cities.
