Spanning two floors and divided into four major exhibition areas, the museum showcases diverse content using modern technology, seamlessly integrating physical exhibits with light and shadow effects.
The Tunnel Museum commenced trial operations in April 2024, offering free admission to all citizens and visitors, with daily opening hours from 10 am to 4:30 pm (closed on Mondays).
The exhibition hall features 192 projects representing China's tunnel development, 21 artistic sculpture scenes, 50 multimedia video interactive interpretations, and 17 sets of engineering models, comprehensively narrating the story of China Railway Tunnel Bureau's four decades of four breakthroughs.
Thematic display areas include sections on heavy equipment showcases, construction techniques and crafts, internationally renowned tunnels, and China Railway Tunnel Bureau's special exhibitions, highlighting tunnel equipment development, construction method innovations, and applications.
The rear hall houses an immersive cinema, engaging audiences in creative experiences envisioning future cities, energy engineering, laser excavation, and more.
The entire museum exudes a rich historical and cultural ambiance, presenting the tales of Chinese tunnels and tunnel workers and offering more profound insights into the development of the tunnel industry.
It has been designated one of the first batches of China's Civil Engineering Popular Science Education Bases from 2023 to 2027.
