Guangzhou Intl Women's Tennis Open set to kick off in Nansha

On Oct 8, the press conference for the Guangzhou International Women's Tennis Open (Guangzhou Open) was held at the News Conference Hall of the International Communication Center in the Greater Bay Area (Nansha).

The Guangzhou Open is one of China's longest-standing international tennis tournaments, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

The competition will take place from Oct 20 to 27 at the Nansha International Tennis Center, featuring women's singles and doubles events with a total prize exceeding $260,000.

The event has attracted numerous top players, such as Sloane Stephens, Sofia Kenin, and Katerina Siniakova.

The 20th-anniversary cultural and promotional activities of the Guangzhou Open include the official unveiling of the mascot Qiqi, the launch of cultural and creative products, and the release of promotional videos. Ticket sales are booming, with various ticket packages available for selection.

As the hosting district, Nansha possesses distinct geographical advantages, a favorable climate, and a robust foundation in tennis. The Nansha International Tennis Center is equipped with outstanding facilities.

The diverse 20th-anniversary activities of the Guangzhou Open include carnivals, cultural exhibitions, and international player visits to schools.

Through this event, Nansha aims to showcase its urban image and development achievements, making the Guangzhou Open a new calling card for Nansha and further driving the development of the district.
