Opening of Nansha disability rehabilitation center, care center

The Nansha disability rehabilitation center and care center were unveiled and put into use on Oct 8, greatly enhancing the capacity and quality of disability rehabilitation and care services in Nansha district.

Located on Huangmei Road in Huangge town, the two centers have a total investment of over 100 million yuan ($14.14 million) and a combined floor area of nearly 20,000 square meters.

The rehabilitation center has commenced operations, spanning five floors with a total floor area of over 3,500 sq m. It primarily offers rehabilitation services for disabled children, community mental health services, and assistive device fitting services for people with disabilities.

The care center, spanning nine floors with a floor area of over 10,000 sq m, is equipped to house 200 beds and deliver comprehensive residential care services for eligible individuals with disabilities.

In the future, these two centers will drive the development of a rehabilitation service network, collaborating with medical institutions, communities, schools, and others to offer comprehensive services for people with disabilities. They will also introduce advanced rehabilitation concepts and technologies, exploring a distinctive rehabilitation service model tailored to Nansha's needs.

The Nansha disabled persons' federation has revised the "Implementation Measures for Disability Assistance in Nansha District", proposing assistance projects with Nansha characteristics.

Additionally, they are establishing star-rated town (street) rehabilitation garden occupational therapy stations to promote upgrading service facilities, enhance service quality and environment, and provide better life support and services for people with disabilities.
