2025 GBA Lantern Festival to be held in Nansha

The 2025 Greater Bay Area Lantern Festival will be held in Nansha district from Jan 22 to March 30, showcasing the region's light art and cultural charm.

The lantern festival integrates elements of Spring Festival and Zigong Lantern Festival from Sichuan province, highlighting the open and cooperative spirit of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The festival will take place in the Nansha Bay scenic area, covering an area of 870 mu (58 hectares) and lasting 68 days. It is the largest, longest-lasting super lantern festival in the country and boasts the most lantern sets.

Featuring 218 sets of lantern displays and over 10,000 colorful lanterns, the festival will connect five major themed lantern parks, allowing visitors to experience a diverse array of cultures and traditional Chinese festivals.

In addition to the lantern displays, the festival will feature nine performance stages with thousands of cultural performances, including Cantonese Opera, martial arts, acrobatics, and other traditional folk activities. Visitors can also try specialty foods from various cities in the Greater Bay Area, enjoying a colorful cultural and tourism experience.

The lantern festival will implement real-name ticket purchasing, with prices ranging from 128 yuan ($17.46) to 168 yuan. Various ticket types and price discounts will be available. It will provide 12,000 parking spaces for personal vehicles and be accessible via subway and public bus.

The lantern festival also provides opportunities for business cooperation in an effort to attract corporate participation.
