During the Spring Festival holiday, a variety of cultural and tourism activities were meticulously arranged in Nansha. Data reveals that from Jan 28 to Feb 4, Nansha experienced a significant surge in cultural and tourism consumption, welcoming a total of 2.12 million visitors.
This figure represents a notable 22.33-percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2024 and an impressive 95.42-percent rise over 2019. The Jiaomen River Central Cluster emerged as the top attraction, drawing a total of 1.55 million visitors.
This year, admiring lantern displays became a popular activity among visitors celebrating the Spring Festival in Nansha. On the evening of Feb 4, even as the holiday drew to a close, the 2025 Greater Bay Area Lantern Festival continued to exude vibrancy and liveliness. As of Feb 5, the 2025 Greater Bay Area Lantern Festival had welcomed a total of 246,837 visitors, with 143,673 visitors from the first to the seventh day of the Spring Festival holiday.
Since the implementation of the 240-hour visa-free policy, it has proven to be effective at the Nansha Port. As of Feb 3, the Nansha border checkpoint had facilitated visa-free transit procedures for 100 foreign passengers, a 200-percent increase compared to the period before the policy optimization. This initiative offers convenience for foreign visitors coming to China for tourism, business, or family visits, with the benefits of the policy continuing to be evident.
During the Spring Festival holiday, Nansha's prominent shopping districts took turns organizing themed events and providing discounts, fostering a celebratory ambiance. Over the holiday period, collective customer traffic in key commercial zones in Nansha surged to approximately 3.64 million, with a total expenditure of around 498 million yuan ($68.4 million) – a more-than twofold increase in customer traffic compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
