Digitalization, modern business add new growth drivers to Tianhe
The establishment of a digital building and the upgrading of commercial carriers in Tianhe central business district (CBD) will add new growth drivers to the socioeconomic development of Guangzhou's Tianhe district.
The Guangzhou International Commercial Center (Guangzhou ICC), which is a model project of the "5G digital economy building," started operation in the Tianhe CBD in September 2021. It has full 5G and Wi-Fi coverage, which can support the intelligent cloud office model.
Focusing on digital economy, technological finance, and high-end services, the Guangzhou ICC has introduced a number of Global Fortune 500 and leading industrial companies, such as the China Shanghai Architectural Design & Research Institute and Posco Daewoo Corporation. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area government service station was also set up in the area, implementing the district's industrial support and technological innovation preferential policies.

The modern business industry has become one of the five leading industries in Tianhe. In 2021, Tianhe realized 205.06 billion yuan ($29.21 billion) in total retail sales of consumer goods, becoming the first district in Guangzhou to exceed 200 billion yuan in this index.
Renowned as the "No 1 business circle in South China," the Tianhe Road Business Circle, one of Tianhe's major business circles, started its upgrading in 2012. It has since gathered 23 commercial carriers, 1,872 renowned domestic and foreign brands, as well as 256 first stores in Guangzhou.
From January to March, the Tianhe Road Business Circle attracted seven new first stores, including the first RAZZLE store in South China and the first lulusmile in Guangzhou.
In the future, Tianhe will continue to make full use of the digital economy and building economy to drive economic development, attract more enterprises to settle in the district, as well as bring new vitality to the Tianhe CBD.
