Guangzhou's Tianhe district has opened channels for public opinions on its preferential policies to advance scientific and technological achievements through to Oct 10.

These measures will be applicable to enterprises that are cultivated in or endorsed by the International Guangzhou Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Tianhe Base.

Institutions, enterprises and social organizations that pass assessment by relevant authorities can enjoy subsidies or reduced rent and management fees for a certain number of years.

Qualified innovative enterprises that have been introduced by operating institutions or incubation service institutions in the Tianhe Base can rent a venue at a reduced rate of 50 percent for up to six years.

After passing the relevant assessments, enterprises that have settled in the Tianhe Base for three years can also enjoy a certain subsidies for reduced rent and management fees.

Performance incentives will also be granted from five aspects: project incubation and growth, debt and equity financing services, university-industry cooperation services, platform construction, as well as fund construction and investment.

For universities and scientific research institutions that recommend innovative enterprises to settle in the Tianhe Base, a reward of 50,000 yuan ($6,856.07) will be granted to each member of their scientific and technological achievements transformation departments. The total rewards will be no more than 1 million yuan per year per unit.
