With flower season now here, Nanming district in Guiyang has launched a vibrant series of springtime events, combining urban leisure, cultural immersion, and eco-friendly sports activities.
At Qingyun Market, the "City Awakening Spring Plan" will feature four parts: a cultural and sports gathering, an artistic market, a seed adoption program, and a graffiti party. Additionally, "Awakening Spring Concerts" will take place every weekend.
On Cao Zhuangyuan Street, the "Zhuangyuan Exam Season" event will immerse visitors in historical traditions. A replica of a Qing Dynasty examination hall offers interactive experiences, including printing wishes for academic success and crafting traditional sachets at an ancient-style market. Visitors can also engage in the "Zhuangyuan Fair", which recreates exam preparations from various historical periods.
In Yongle township, the "Peach Blossom Run & Spring Fun" event will take place from mid-March to early April. Against the backdrop of endless peach and rapeseed blossoms in full bloom, visitors can partake in a scenic "Peach Blossom Run", choosing between a specially designed 5.20-kilometer or a 13.14-km race route. Those who finish will receive a limited-edition peach blossom medal.
Nanming also offers additional flower-viewing spots that are less known. Hebin Park boasts magnolias, cherry blossoms, and crabapples, which are currently at their most beautiful. Entrance is free and the park is very easy to get to.
The Hongyanqiao Riverbank hides an 800-meter-long cherry blossom tunnel, offering a picturesque yet less crowded experience. Meanwhile, Ahahu National Wetland Park's Azalea Valley will showcase over 60 varieties of azaleas from late March to May, allowing visitors to enjoy a tranquil boat ride through the floral paradise.
