The trail, which spans 5.11 kilometers, integrates historical elements into urban renewal and connects key cultural landmarks through innovative design. Highlights include cultural walls, scenic installations, and the "city exhibition hall" bridge, which showcases the history of Guiyang's iconic nine gates and four pavilions.

A comprehensive cultural initiative accompanies the trail. A newly published book, Old Guiyang: The Streets and Markets of the Walled City, delves into the area's rich history. To complement this, the district has released a vibrant promotional video that combines dialect rap, youthful dance, and live-action storytelling to bring the trail's essence to life.

Visitors can explore themed walking routes focusing on street culture, historic landmarks, and local cuisine. An immersive VR guide map provides a digital tour with voice narration across five themes, offering an engaging way to discover Guiyang's hidden stories.

A series of expert interviews titled "Old Guiyang Talks" features scholars discussing the city's history and preservation strategies. Community events and guided tours invite locals and visitors to explore, celebrate, and safeguard Guiyang's historical legacy.
