Yuejie Cinema's success sparks local business boom

Yuejie Cinema in Guiyang's Yunyan district has experienced an unexpected resurgence thanks to the overwhelming success of Ne Zha 2 and the cinema's unique features, including the largest IMAX GT screen in Asia which provides an immersive viewing experience.

Once struggling with low attendance, the cinema now draws massive crowds and is a must-visit hotspot in the city.

This cinematic boom has also ignited business growth in the surrounding area. Restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues near the cinema have seen a surge in foot traffic.

During the film's peak screening period, searches for nearby hotels increased threefold, and occupancy rates rose by 40 percent. Compared to the pre-holiday season, searches for local restaurants jumped by 376 percent.

Businesses are capitalizing on the wave of popularity. A restaurant owner near the cinema shared that his revenue has significantly increased, with long queues forming regularly. Many businesses have introduced special dining packages and promotions, including themed meals inspired by Ne Zha 2.

Beyond boosting local commerce, Guiyang has offered the influx of visitors exclusive perks. Tourists with a Yuejie Cinema ticket stub can enjoy discounts at various attractions, hotels, and shopping centers.

With cherry blossoms and tulips in full bloom, Guiyang further entices visitors with special flower-viewing tours, ensuring they can enjoy blockbuster films and immerse themselves in the city's vibrant culture and natural beauty.
