The dragon dance is a traditional dance to celebrate the Lantern Festival in Zhonghe town, Danzhou. The dragon is an auspicious symbol and people perform the dance to pray for favorable weather and a fruitful harvest. Locals voluntarily organize into a dragon dance parade every year to deliver good wishes and create a festive atmosphere.
