The Hainan Sanyuesan Festival celebrations kicked off at the main venue in Lingshui Li autonomous county with an evening gala on April 7.
The gala presented around 20 folk performances, including the display of Li and Miao traditional brocade, ethnic dances, sand painting art and a medley of folk songs.
This year's Sanyuesan celebration focuses on love and gratitude and consisted of two major performing venues in Lingshui and Wuzhishan.
A sacrifice ceremony was held in Wuzhishan to convey the Li people's respect for their ancestors and the pursuit of a better future.
Meanwhile, a number of tourism promotions, a bamboo dance competition, ethnic sports events, gourmet fairs and more are coming up throughout the festival celebrations.
