Hainan International Economic Cooperation and Exchange Association (Hainan IECEA) and the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed an online agreement on July 16, seeking to promote deeper cooperation between Hainan and Davao, Philippines in various fields.
According to the agreement, the two parties will establish a mechanism for communication on a regular basis to share information. They will expand their cooperation to cover more aspects and explore new ways to enhance and obtain mutual benefits in economic development and trade.
At the signing ceremony, an official from Hainan IECEA introduced the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, expressing hope to lift the quality and scale of cooperation with Davao to a higher level.
After signing the agreement, the two parties had discussions on how to cooperate in fields like agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, education, tourism and COVID-19 containment.
While addressing the event, Li Lin, consul general of China in Davao said that these discussions marked an important beginning of the cooperation between the two parties in the future, and the Consulate General of China in Davao is willing to serve as a bridge for Hainan-Davao communication and cooperation.
