Welcome the first medical and management team
of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine to settle in Lecheng.

On November 23rd, the first medical and management team of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as "Ruijin Hospital") settled in Lecheng Pilot Zone under the leadership of Qiu Liping, vice president of Ruijin Hospital, and would work in Hainan Hospital (Boao Research Hospital) of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine permanently. The first team of doctors, experts and officers are composed of 19 persons, including doctoral tutors, chief doctors, deputy chief doctors and persons from infectious diseases department, neurosurgery department, cardiology department, laboratory, pharmacy and radiology department and other functional departments.   
Gu Gang, Party Secretary and Director of Lecheng Pilot Zone Administration, expressed his warm welcome for the arrival of the Ruijin Hospital team. "I believe that jointly built by Ruijin Hospital and Hainan General Hospital, Ruijin Hainan Hospital (Boao Research Hospital) will gradually become a high-level medical and research institution in China to meet more health needs of the people.” Gu Gang said.   

It is reported that Hainan Hospital (Boao Research Hospital), which is jointly built with Hainan General Hospital, will be put into trial operation in December. Ruijin Hospital team will join hands with Hainan General Hospital to optimize the service process, promote the construction and operation of the hospital in terms of clinical research, medical technology, medical quality, nursing management and other aspects, and strive to improve the medical service capacity and level of Lecheng Pilot Zone, so as to provide high-quality medical services to patients in Hainan and even the whole country.

Lyu Xiaolei, a member of the Party Committee and deputy director of Lecheng Pilot Zone Administration, introduced the situation of Lecheng Pilot Zone to the expert team of Ruijin Hospital.

On the same day, the expert team of Ruijin Hospital also made a visit to the hospital to learn about the supporting facilities of the hospital.

Gu Zhidong, the person in charge of Ruijin Hainan Hospital, shared his feelings on the settlement of the first team of doctors in Lecheng and the future work plan.

The expert team of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine settled in Lecheng first. What work will they do?

In order to speed up the construction of Ruijin Hainan Hospital (Boao Research Hospital), we feel very fortunate that with the strong support and cooperation of Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Government, Health Commission of Hainan Province, Lecheng Pilot Zone Administration and Hainan General Hospital, the first team of experts came to Lecheng Pilot Zone. We will join hands with Hainan General Hospital to carry out the overall management and operation of the hospital.

What are the future plan and goal of Boao Research Hospital?
We will strive to build a national regional medical center as a research-oriented hospital to help achieve the goal of “treat series illness without leaving the island” and "treat serious illness without going abroad”.
As a well-known public medical brand in China, the settlement of Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in Lecheng Pilot Zone is a new venture. Ning Guang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Ruijin Hospital,  demanded that the hospital be the first user of new drugs and devices in the world, the global promoter of China’s new drugs and medical devices, the provider of the best medical rehabilitation solutions and the pioneer of clinical medicine in the world.

What do you think of the supporting facilities and environment of Lecheng Pilot Zone?
As a pilot medical park for global innovative drugs and devices, Lecheng launched a “ever-lasting” international innovative medicine exhibition that has attracted more than 80 international innovative drug and device manufacturers from 16 countries and exhibited thousands of international innovative drug and device products, which laid a good foundation for our hospital to practice the "first user-global promoter-solution provider-pioneer" concept in the future.
Walking in Lecheng, we see a vibrant park, and the whole supporting facilities of Lecheng, including the supporting conditions of the apartment building we live, are also very good. I believe that not only our team, but also medical teams from all over the country will deeply feel the enthusiasm and vitality of Lecheng.

What are your expectations for future work in Lecheng?

We look forward to our full and harmonious communication with the team of Hainan General Hospital, and jointly push forward the construction of the hospital to the trial operation stage as soon as possible. We also hope that through our efforts, people in Hainan Province and even the whole country can really enjoy the benefits brought by the preferential policies, and more international innovative medical products can be introduced to serve the health of the people.
