On September 12, 2024, the Hainan International Medical Center (Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Hainan International Medical Center), jointly established by the Hainan Provincial Department of Education, the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, was officially unveiled, and welcomed the first batch of Hainan specialized postgraduate from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine to settle in Boao Lecheng.
