Hohhot holds Lantern Festival activities
During Lantern Festival, various districts in Hohhot organized a variety of activities.
In Xincheng district, a series of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and folk activities were launched. The ICH performance Datiehua (where performers threw molten iron into the air and struck it with wooden boards to create flower-like sparks) was staged at Suyala Square and Baoding Square.
In Naobao village, the Lantern Festival celebrations included a shehuo (symbolizing blessings, exorcism, and harvest celebration) parade and Ulan Muqir art performances.
In Huimin district, a shehuo performance was held at Xinhua Square, featuring yangko with drum performances, and more.

Shehuo parades were also held on Niujie Street, Kuangxiangzi Street, and Zhongshan West Road pedestrian street.

In Tumd Left Banner, the original government square hosted a shehuo parade with 23 parade teams, a hundred-member stilt team and Ulan Muqir art performances. Free yuanxiao (a traditional food always eaten during Lantern Festival) and stewed fish were provided on-site.

In Togtoh county, the Cultural Palace hosted ICH performances and riddle-guessing activities.
In Horinger county, 19 performance teams presented a blend of traditional and modern folk festivities.
In Qingshuihe county, a cultural performance combined online and offline modes, attracting 280,000 viewers.
