Officials of the Administrative Committee of Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) visited Jiefang Daily office and attended a strategic cooperation meeting and signing ceremony on May 6.

Min Shilin, executive deputy director of the administration committee, and Li Yun, Party secretary of Jiefang Daily, attended the meeting alongside other officials.

The construction and development of the Hongqiao CBD is a priority of the Shanghai municipal government. Construction on a 3.7-square-kilometer core area comprising of public facilities and open areas will begin this year and be completed in the next two years. 

A 59- square-kilometer expansion area will serve to integrate industrial production and city functions.

The delegation hoped to cooperate with Jiafeng Daily to receive feedback on its official business, tourism and culture plan. Jiefang Daily is one of the most influential new media outlets in China. Hongqiao CBD will enhance cooperation with Jiefang Daily, to seek more promotion and publicity, according to Min.

Li Yun said that Jiefang Daily was propelling into reform and innovation recently, to meet the rapid development of Internet. It’s their responsibility and duty to promote the development and construction of Hongqiao CBD. Jiegang Daily will report the developments of the Hongqiao CBD through its newspaper and affiliated website, the Shanghai Observer.
