Those keener on burning than consuming calories had a myriad of opportunities to do so in October. The chance to take to the water in a kayak proved one of the most popular events. Hongqiao CBD, located on a beautiful stretch of water, is home to a kayaking club and offers visitors the chance to learn a range of kayaking skills with the aid of professional instructions.

Those more compelled by the realm of e-sports also enjoyed an eventful October as Hongqiao Tiandi hosted the Overwatch Asia Pacific Tournament. Overwatch, a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter game from premier game producer Blizzard Entertainment, was a hotly contested affair with teams arriving from all around the world to compete 500,000 yuan the grand prize. The eventual winners were Rogue Club, a band of Swedish brothers that exhibited unparalleled levels of individual technique and teamwork.

Those fearful that November will prove dull and listless in the wake of October's exuberant will be placated by the knowledge that Hongqiao has an equally stimulating series of events in store. In celebration of Mozart's 260th anniversary, a series of piano concerts will be held to commemorate the invaluable legacy of the Classical era composer.

This is only one example of the many events that the business district plans on hosting so as to ensure Hongqiao CBD remains a vibrant and relevant location in the Shanghai entertainment scene.
