Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) is set to gain another landmark shopping complex as the Macrolink Shopping Mall opens on Nov 19.

Located in the core area of Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD), the shopping mall covers an area of 72,000 square meters. Global leading brands, catering, entertainment, living facilities and a cinema have settled in offering the highest level of shopping experience.

A grand ceiling featuring smart technology has proved the highlight of the new structure. The ceiling boasts interactive function which can alter its theme according to variations of the weather. Adding gorgeous rotating patterns and color combinations and full surround sound stereo, the ceiling is certainly a wonderful new concept for visitors to explore.

One advanced technology brought into the shopping mall includes a charmingly naive robot named "Wow". The robot is equipped with voice activation software which enables it to greet, answer questions, offer guidance and even sing and dance. Connected to phone devices, the robot can also assist security guards to help call the police in emergent circumstances.

To celebrate the grand opening of the shopping mall, many discounts and activities have been put into effect since Nov 19. The opening day witnessed a cultural extravaganza including a children's modeling contest, a grand magic show and a singing and dancing performance. Displays of some of the coolest supercars, the time-honored Harley-Davidson haulage motors and a gorgeous flower parade rejoiced in Shanghai Hongqiao on the day.
