6. Hongqiao Hub accommodates 350 million passengers in 2016

Hongqiao CBD once again proved it is one of the largest comprehensively integrated transportation hubs in the world, as it accommodated more than 350 million passengers in 2016, up 13 percent from 2015.

Hongqiao Transportation Hub also saw a record high passenger flow of 1.32 million people on Oct 1, China's National Day, with an average of 1.18 million travelers per day during the whole National Day holiday.

Hongqiao Integrated Transportation Hub combines multiple means of transportation. Civil aviation, high-speed railways, interurban railways, long-distance passenger transportation, subways, ground buses and taxis are all readily accessible.

Over the last year, the Hongqiao Hub solved 87 emergencies and evacuated more than 260,000 passengers safely. Totally 32 traffic signs and two bus stops had been added to optimize the traffic system and making things even more convenient for those who travel in the area.

A comprehensive transport service information platform is currently under development, which will help facilitate route navigation, road condition releasing and car parking.
