Huzhou tourism recovers during holiday

Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province received over 5.74 million visitors during the National Day holiday from October 1 to 8, bringing in about 5.17 billion yuan ($749.27 million) in tourism revenue, according to a local media report citing statistics from the Huzhou tourism big data center. 

Tourist numbers bounced back to 88.05 percent of last year's number during the same period, while the tourism revenue reached 83.69 percent of last year’s figure.

Rural tourism sites received about 2.71 million tourists, while 28 key scenic spots received over 1.58 million visitors. 

During the holiday, the city held over 200 cultural and tourism activities and offered 10 travel routes for tourists. 

The most popular scenic spots in the city during the holiday included Nanxun Ancient Town in Nanxun district, Taihu Lake Longemont Paradise in Changxing county, and Yunshang Caoyuan Scenic Spot in Anji county, which welcomed 338,200 visitors, 150,100 visitors, and 66,800 visitors, respectively.
