As the inspiration behind the concept of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets", Huzhou recently was designated a provincial pioneer city in green agricultural development in Zhejiang province, according to local media reports.

Currently, the city's annual grain production capacity has reached 1.16 million metric tons. It is home to 113 demonstration zones for green agricultural development and 103 model pastures.

Fifty-six percent of agricultural products from the city have been listed as high-quality green agricultural products.

There are now a total of 26 Zhejiang renowned agricultural brands in Huzhou, among which Anji white tea's brand value has reached 4.164 billion yuan ($640.62 million).

Notably, the city's use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has continuously been reduced.

Significant improvement has also been seen in the control and prevention of pollution from large-scale farming.

Aquatic products, vegetables, tea, and fruit are the four pillar industries in Huzhou, while oil and grain, as well as sericulture are its two traditional industries.

The city is also famous for the plantation of flowers and bamboo shoots, as well as animal husbandry like sheep native to Huzhou.
