A total of 10 enterprises from Huzhou, including Zhejiang Damon Technologies Co Ltd and Zhejiang Unipower Bolier Co Ltd, recently made the list of Zhejiang provincial "hidden champions" in 2020, making it the city with the third most enterprises with that title in the province.

To date, the city is home to 21 provincial "hidden champions" and 88 municipal "hidden champions".

There are another 78 enterprises that are listed as candidates to be provincial "hidden champions".

The term "hidden champions" was coined in 1990 by Hermann Simon, a German business professor and management consultant. The concept refers to highly successful companies, often market leaders in a specific niche market, which are not known to the wider public.

They are usually small and medium-sized enterprises with products and services that are difficult to be surpassed, as well as imitated.

In addition to its "hidden champions", Huzhou also houses 12 national "little giant" enterprises.

 "Little giant" enterprises are outstanding high-tech small and medium-sized enterprises with high growth potential, advanced technology, and strong market competitiveness.
