A string of preferential policies have been rolled out by Huzhou for non-local workers who have opted to stay in the city for the Spring Festival holiday.

A number of free training sessions related to vocational skills, health care, and family education will be provided for enterprises with large numbers of non-local employees that have chosen to spend the holiday in the city.

Non-local workers are also able to apply for a monthly package consisting of 10 gigabytes of data and at least 100 minutes of talk time for mobile phones. The package is free of charge for three months.

In addition, 200,000 yuan ($30,769) in coupons will be distributed on the WeChat account of the city's general labor union through lucky draws. The recipients are confined to its members.

The city has also rolled out 10 recommended travel routes and 50 destinations to savor local cuisine.

Non-local workers can apply for a tourism card, which will enable them to tour 34 A-level scenic attractions in Huzhou at discounted prices.

The city's public venues, including museums and study rooms, will be open to the public free of charge. More than 100 New Year celebration activities like galas, exhibitions, and concerts are also slated to be staged across the city.

Subsidies will be granted to local star-level travel agencies to organize tours for non-local workers. Those that organize a one-day trip for more than 50 visitors will be provided with a subsidy of 50 yuan ($7.69) per person, with the figure being increased to 100 yuan if the trip duration is extended to two days.

The measures concerning travel and culture are valid from Feb 1 to 28.
