Formerly a non-descript village, Tanlongqiao village has become an increasingly popular rural tourism destination in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The village situated in Heping town, Huzhou's Changxing county has gained its fame for its Xiamu Lake Scenic Spot.

The tea plantation in the village spans 16,000 mu (1,066.66 hectares), and its rustic natural scenes have drawn numerous investors. With an investment of 12 million yuan (1.85 million), Xiamu Lake Scenic Spot was established in Tanlongqiao.

The scenic spot consists of a tea expo garden, water recreational facilities, as well as places for visitors to go fishing, camping, and barbecuing, covering a total area of 200 mu.

It opened to visitors on a trial basis during the Spring Festival this year and welcomed more than 30,000 visitors.

The booming tourism has inspired some villagers to transform their houses into homestays, accommodating the influx of visitors. Fences surrounding their houses have also been torn down and replaced with grasslands.
