Deqing hosts young scholars forum

The fifth Zhejiang University of Technology - Moganshan Young Scholars Forum was held in Deqing county of Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on June 5.

The forum was organized by Zhejiang University of Technology and Deqing county. More than 200 doctoral students from domestic and international universities, such as the University of Cambridge, California Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University, and Peking University, attended the forum both online and offline.

The event aims to build a platform for academic exchanges and achievements display, promote cooperation in different fields, showcase the advantages and preferential policies of both organizers, as well as further strengthen interconnection and gather more professionals.

"Deqing is located in the center of the Yangtze River Delta region. It has a developed transportation network and many high-level industrial platforms. I believe there are opportunities for personal development here," said Shi Haifeng, a PhD graduate in structural engineering from Zhejiang University. He reached an employment intention agreement in Deqing through the forum's green channel.

In recent years, Deqing has continuously increased its efforts in attracting talents. It has provided a number of subsidies for employment, home purchases, and resettlement, with an average subsidy of 800,000 yuan ($125,120) per person.

By hosting the forum, Deqing aims to attract more young personnel to start business and develop research results there, as well as to bring new business models and new ideas to the county.

At the forum, several universities, research institutes, and enterprises in Zhejiang offered job opportunities. A total of 154 young people submitted their resumes, of which 55 of them reached employment intention agreements with employers.
