Huzhou's GDP grows 11.8% Jan-Sept

Huzhou's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 260.904 billion yuan ($40.1 billion) in the first three quarters of this year, rising 11.8 percent on a yearly basis and 6.7 percent on a two-year average basis.

The year-on-year growth rate is the second fastest in East China's Zhejiang province, according to statistics released by the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics on Oct 26.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries reached 9.42 billion yuan, 131.28 billion yuan and 120.2 billion yuan, representing a rise of 4.2 percent, 13.8 percent, and 10.5 percent respectively.

Its agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries increased by 4.3 percent year-on-year to 10.16 billion yuan in added value, putting the two-year average growth at 3.5 percent.

The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in Huzhou surged 17.8 percent year-on-year to 90.57 billion yuan during the nine-month period.

Stable growth was seen in its service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 10.5 percent in added value. The growth rate was the highest in Zhejiang.

The city's investment in fixed assets also recorded a 12.7-percent rise during the period.

Huzhou's foreign trade volume expanded 38 percent year-on-year to 111.98 billion yuan, with exports soaring 39.3 percent to 101.8 billion yuan.

From January to June, the city's fiscal revenue increased 20.9 percent year-on-year to 62.7 billion yuan.

The per capita disposable income of its urban residents rose to 51,707 yuan, an increase of 12.2 percent, while the figure for their rural counterparts 32,565 yuan, up 12.6 percent.
