Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province launched a digital platform on Jan 6 to promote synergy in the children's wear sector.

By leveraging new-generation information technologies including cloud computing, big data and artificial intelligence, the platform will forge links between upstream and downstream enterprises in the sector and facilitate smooth communication between enterprises and the government.

The platform has been well-received by enterprises during its preliminary trial operation and is expected to inject new vitality to the children's wear sector.

The platform has helped its 3,627 registered users slash average procurement costs by 5 percent, shorten the loan period by 76 percent and improve the overall capacity utilization rate by 32 percent.

Official statistics show that Huzhou currently has 14,000 market entities that hire about 300,000 employees in the children's wear sector.

A complete industrial chain integrating design, processing, marketing, fabric supply, logistics, and warehousing has emerged in Zhili town, a national manufacturing hub for children's wear located in the city's Wuxing district.

The output of all kinds of children's wear in Huzhou accounts for two thirds of the domestic market share.
