The operating income of industrial businesses above the designated size in Huzhou's Anji county surpassed 100 billion yuan ($15.38 billion) in 2021, official statistics show.

Their combined profits in the past year amounted to 10 billion yuan.

As of December last year, the county had topped Huzhou in terms of the growth rate of the added value of industrial enterprises above the designated size for 21 months in a row.

The outstanding performance of local businesses can be partly attributed to the continuous optimization of government services.

The local government slashed 5 billion yuan in taxes and fees for enterprises in 2021, and helped them solve more than 7,500 problems of various kinds throughout the year.

The improved services have injected new vitality to the growth of local companies. One company that has benefitted is Zhejiang Skyherb Technologies Co Ltd.

According to Pan Yanlan, deputy head of the administration at Skyherb, the company's production lines for the first half of this year have already been fully booked. Workers even have to work overtime to ensure that orders are delivered as scheduled.

In 2021, the company's sales increased by about 20 percent year-on-year. This year, Skyherb has already received orders worth 200 million yuan.
