Huzhou's GDP hits 86.18b yuan in Q1

Huzhou's gross domestic product (GDP) was valued at 86.18 billion yuan ($13.26 billion) in the first quarter of this year, up 1.8 percent year-on-year, according to statistics released by the Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Statistics on April 25.

The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries reached 2.27 billion yuan, 43.54 billion yuan and 40.38 billion yuan, a rise of 2.9 percent, 6.7 percent, and 3 percent respectively.

Its agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries registered a year-on-year increase of 3.2 percent during the period.

The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in Huzhou expanded 8.9 percent year-on-year to 32.88 billion yuan.

Stable growth was seen in its service sector, which registered a year-on-year growth of 3 percent in added value from January to March.

Over the same period, the city's investment in fixed assets also recorded a 14.5-percent increase.

Its foreign trade volume rose 17.4 percent year-on-year to 35.79 billion yuan, with exports soaring 18.2 percent to 32.99 billion yuan.

The city's retail sales of social consumer goods recorded an uptick of 3.5 percent.

Its fiscal revenue increased 16.4 percent year-on-year to 26.41 billion yuan.

Income levels also improved. The city's overall per capita disposable income in the first quarter increased by 7.2 percent to 19,399 yuan. Per capita disposable income of urban residents rose to 22,719 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 14,282 yuan.
