Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has built 31 kilometers of greenways this year, hitting over 70 percent of the target set by the city for 2022.

As of June, the city had 990 km of greenways, and the total length is expected to surpass 1,000 km this year, according to official data from the Huzhou municipal construction bureau.

Such greenways have been built to promote the connectivity between local scenic spots and parks.

Four greenways in Huzhou have been listed among the "most beautiful greenways in Zhejiang".

Cutting-edging technologies like artificial intelligence have also been applied on greenways. For example, the 15 AI-powered cameras installed along a greenway in Nanxun district can recognize body movements and gather their exercise information including the number of steps walked and energy consumption.
