Huzhou's Nanxun district was recently designated as the only pilot zone in Zhejiang province to promote the integrated development of the rural tourism industry.

Nanxun has in recent years made strides in developing its rural tourism, with a number of tourism projects related to outdoor sports and camping being set up in its rural areas.

The district will ramp up institutional innovation and facilitate the standardization of the rural tourism market after being designated the provincial pilot zone, said a local official.

Authorities plan to develop signature rural tourism projects within three years and develop some replicable experiences in boosting rural vitalization and common prosperity via rural tourism.
