Changxing reviews past decade's achievements

Ahead of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Huzhou's Changxing county has detailed its achievements over the past 10 years, from economic growth and green and low-carbon development to common prosperity.
Changxing's gross domestic product (GDP) rose from 37 billion yuan ($5.69 billion) in 2012 to more than 80 billion yuan, an annual average increase of 8.3 percent over the past decade, said Zhu Wei, head of Changxing, at a news conference on Oct 11.
Over the same period, the county's fiscal revenue climbed from 6.22 billion yuan to 14.69 billion yuan, while its revenue in the general public budgets increased from 3.55 billion yuan to 8.28 billion yuan.
Changxing has also been ranked 30th among the top 100 counties in terms of comprehensive strength. Specifically, it was ranked 13th in investment potential, 12th in innovation capability, 9th in ease of doing business and 28th in green development.
The county has also posted strong industrial development momentum. Tianneng and Chiwee, two battery makers based in Changxing, made the top 20 in the 500 Chinese Private Enterprise List.
In addition, the local government has made strides in the pursuit of green and low-carbon development. Changxing has been honored as national demonstration zone for ecological civilization.
