Digang village in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province recently made the first group of 60 destinations recommended for experiencing farming culture by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Digang is renowned for its mulberry fish ponds, a special dike-pond model that integrates fish ponds with the breeding of mulberry silkworms. The model was listed as a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 2017.
A 700-mu (46 hectares) base has been established in the village for tourists to experience the unique mulberry fish pond farming culture. The base includes a nearly-300-mu practicing area and facilities such as museums, studies and a fishing wharf.
