A long-table banquet was held to celebrate the fish harvest in Dongheng village, Luoshe town, Huzhou's Deqing county on Jan 17.

The banquet was hosted by fisherman Lu Ahua, who treated the villagers to dishes made with fish freshly caught from his ponds that same day. The 69-year-old has a 250-mu (16.67 hectares) fish pond that is estimated to yield about 400 metric tons of fish this year.

Lu said he held the banquet as he wanted to share the joy of harvesting with his fellow villagers.

The banquet table measured about 100 meters in length and was filled with local signature dishes like Yutangfan, or braised fish.

It is a tradition to host such an event every year to celebrate the fish harvest, according to Zhang Shunlong, Party chief of the village.
