Deqing agricultural park receives national recognition

The Deqing County Modern Agricultural Park in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province was recently included on the fifth list of 20 national-level modern agricultural parks released by the ministries of finance and agriculture and rural affairs.

Spanning 17,867 hectares, the agricultural park is a leader in the production of freshwater shrimps and pearls. Through digital technologies and brand marketing, the park has built a 10-billion-yuan ($1.48-billion) aquaculture industrial chain. Its output in 2022 reached 10.44 billion yuan.

The park is also developing its tourism industry and receives more than 550,000 visitors every year.

In order to promote technological innovation in the park, Deqing has introduced six agricultural high-tech companies. The park now owns 146 patents.

Deqing is currently home to 68 leading agricultural companies, 102 cooperatives, and 181 family farms.
