The fourth Yangtze River Delta Rural Culture and Tourism Maker Conference took place in Nanxun district, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on March 17.

Over 200 makers from the Yangtze River Delta - a region encompassing the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui as well as Shanghai municipality - participated in the event, which was aimed at strengthening connections between makers and investors involved in the rural culture and travel sectors in the delta region.

Chu Ziyu, head of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, addressed the conference, calling on provinces and cities involved to make concerted efforts to promote the integrated development of cultural and tourism in the area.

Hong Hupeng, major of Huzhou, spoke about the city's development in the culture and tourism sectors as well as its strengths and business climate. He also expressed hope that the makers attending the meeting would come to Huzhou to seek new opportunities.

Hong pointed out that Huzhou has been actively developing itself into a renowned destination for rural tourism to tap the upcoming explosive growth in the tourism sector, which he believes will come on the back of consumption upgrading in the Yangtze River Delta, one of the most economically and socially developed regions in China.

The conference has since its inception in 2019 grown to become an important event themed on rural culture and tourism development in the Yangtze River Delta.
