Eight companies from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province recently made the 2022 list of national green factories released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Among the eight honor recipients are Huzhou Huaikan South Cement Co Ltd, Zhejiang Dehong Automotive Electronics Co Ltd and Zhejiang Cady Industrial Co Ltd.

Cady recently made its initial public offering on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on March 16, becoming the third company from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province to be listed this year.

In addition, 32 products from the city were accredited as national green design products, while one industrial park was designated as a national green industrial park, and six local companies were honored as national companies with green supply chain management, according to MIIT.

A national pilot city for green manufacturing, Huzhou has in recent years made strides in green development as well.

It is the only city in China that has created a comprehensive green manufacturing standard system that covers cities, counties, industrial parks, factories and products.

Green manufacturing, also referred to as green production, is when manufacturing companies (regardless of scale) look to upgrade any outdated forms of production and opt for more environmental manufacturing solutions which reduce the amount of waste they produce.
