Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province has emerged as a hotspot for global talent.

This was recently demonstrated at the Huzhou Future Conference, where around 13,000 college graduates from 173 universities sought employment.

The conference, held from May 20 to 21, also saw the launch of 216 talent projects and the holding of matchmaking meetings between 168 high-level talent and enterprises, universities and research institutes.

Huzhou's appeal to young talent has been growing steadily, with over half a million college students attracted to the city since 2018.

So, what makes Huzhou such an attractive place for young talent? According to Guo Sheng, chairman and CEO of online recruitment platform Zhaopin.com, the city's investment in research and development is far higher than the national average and ranks third in Zhejiang province.

"A city with such high R&D investment is highly attractive to young people looking for employment and entrepreneurship," said Guo.

Furthermore, Huzhou's demand for young talent with one to six years of experience accounts for roughly 80 percent of the city's total.
