The full installation of all box girders along the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou high-speed railway line was finished on March 4, with the last box girder placed on a mega bridge pier in Shanghai's Songjiang district.

Stretching 163.8 km from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Huzhou Railway Station in Zhejiang province via Suzhou in Jiangsu province, the new high-speed rail line features a design speed of 350 km/h. It includes eight railway stations along its route.

Once operational, the new railway is expected to play a significant role in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region by enhancing transportation links between major cities.

The Songjiang east precast beam plant under the China Railway First Group is responsible for fabricating and erecting the 443 box girders spanning from Songjiang South Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. Girder production began on June 11, 2022, and installation commenced on April 24, 2023.
