From January to July, the civil affairs department of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region allocated 8.42 billion yuan ($1.26 billion) from the general public budget in 2022 to safeguard people's livelihoods.

The allocated funds include 7.12 billion yuan in assistance funds, 667 million yuan in pension funds, 562 million yuan in social affairs funds, and 43 million yuan in charity funds.

Community construction funds, children's welfare funds and civil affairs funds reached 15 million yuan, 12 million yuan and 1 million yuan, respectively.

The funds were given to people with disabilities, orphans, elderly people, vagrants and beggars.
