New project boosts Ejine Banner's power supply

2023-01-06 (chinadaily.com.cn)

A power network project in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region that integrates power supply, grid, load, and energy storage was successfully connected to the grid on Jan 5 and began trial operation.

The project, a new energy storage power station, is located in the region's Ejine Banner, and is operated by the Inner Mongolia Power Group.

It adopts a new power system operation model, which can precisely control its power load and energy storage resources, as well as solve the problems of clean energy consumption and grid volatility.

This project is the first strong regional power grid construction project in China with independent operation capabilities, pan-voltage level, wide coverage, and a low short-circuit capacity.

According to Yang Xuelin, deputy manager of Ejine Power Supply Company, the project received a total of 125 million yuan in investment and construction lasted 112 days.

Once the power station is fully operational, it can work in parallel with the 10kV power grid. This will effectively solve the problem of low power supply reliability in remote areas.

"The 17-year history of single power supply in Ejine Banner ended." Yang said.
