Tongliao, Chifeng to build industrial transfer demonstration zones

The National Development and Reform Commission recently issued a notice, proposing that Tongliao and Chifeng, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, set up demonstration zones for industrial transfers in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia.

According to the plan, Chifeng will build the Beijing-Inner Mongolian (Yizhuang·Chifeng) Cooperation Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Park; and Tongliao will establish a development zone to undertake industrial transfers in order to accelerate the process of new industrialization, which will enhance the core competitiveness of the regional economy.

Horqin district in the jurisdiction of Tongliao will focus on wind power equipment manufacturing, new energy, and urban industries.

Inner Mongolia North Energy Group Co will relocate its fully-insulated inflatable cabinet co-box production workshop from East China's Jiangsu province to the Songshan Industrial Park, while Chifeng Muxiangyuan Meat Food Processing Co will relocate its beef cattle slaughtering and deep processing workshop from Beijing to Linxi county.

Developing Chifeng and Tongliang into regional central cities is a part of Inner Mongolia's 14th Five-Year Plan and one of its 2035 long-term goals.

Since the two cities signed a memorandum of cooperation in 2022 to boost coordinated development, great results have been delivered.
