A tour group from Buryatia in Russia successfully arrived in Manzhouli, a border city located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on April 8.

This is the first tour group to visit Manzhouli within a three-year period, due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Wang Zhiguo, deputy general manager of the Manzhouli Kouan International Travel Agency, introduced that the 25 Russian tourists would spend three days and two nights in Manzhouli.

They toured the city's landmarks, such as the Matryoshka scenic spot, the Beijiang Mingzhu Sightseeing Tower, and a museum, as well as tasting some traditional Chinese food.

"The full recovery of the inbound group tourism sector is of great significance to the development of the company. We are ready to welcome more Russian tourists to Manzhouli." Wang added.

Since April, with the resumption of inbound tourism, the number of inbound and outbound tourists in Manzhouli has continued to rise.

At present, various travel agencies are actively researching market trends, and will continue to develop new tourism products and travel routes to meet the travel needs of tourists to the greatest extent.

According to Yan Mei, director of the Manzhouli culture, sports, tourism, radio and television bureau, Manzhouli is also planning to hold tourism, sports and culture exchange activities this year to boost cross-border tourism.
