The 3rd Dongdashan Art Festival will begin on June 6 in Baotou, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and showcase folk culture, according to Baotou Daily.

A total of 27 local artists will be invited to promote things such as Baotou paper-cutting, paper-cuts for windows, and chatang (tea soup), a local delicacy made of seasonal flour mush consisting of sorghum and millet flour. The four-day event will also feature folk art performances and local snack fairs.

Dongdashan Arts Area is the gathering venue for folk artists in Baotou city. The area boasts four themed zones: the Contemporary Art Museum, Folk Art Museum, a research institute focusing on the influence of deer on Baotou’s culture (Baotou is known as Lucheng, literally “deer city”), and artist studios.

A total of four folk artists –– Wang Hongchuan, Liu Zhanqiang, Wang Haiyan, and Guo Qipeng –– have set up studios in the area.
