Baotou hosts 2nd voluntary service project competition

The city of Baotou, in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, launched its second voluntary service project competition on May 28, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

The competition, jointly hosted by the civilization office of the Baotou and Baotou Volunteer Service Federation, started at the beginning of this year. Some 100 voluntary service projects meeting the requirements registered their interest in participating.

After a qualifying exam and expert evaluation, a total of 20 projects were selected to enter the next level of the event, a practical assessment.

The 20 selected projects cover nine categories including helping the elderly, community service, healthcare, disaster relief and environmental protection.

A list of the 20 selected projects was released at the launch ceremony. The 20 project leaders signed a letter of commitment.
