Baogang eyes digital transformation after agreements signed with 16 companies
Baogang Group is set to further promote its digital transformation following a strategic cooperation agreement signed on Dec 16 with 16 digital, intelligent manufacturing, and industrial internet companies including Huawei Technologies Co and Alibaba Group, according to Baotou Daily.
According to the agreement, the parties will carry out cooperation in the field of integrated innovation and in the application of new generation information technology and manufacturing equipment, such as unmanned project applications, smart control centers, smart logistics systems, smart factories, and digital workshops.
The companies will jointly explore solutions for the application of the industrial internet, promote the transformation and application of technological achievements in enterprises, and improve the supporting capacity of innovative service enterprises.
Baogang Group, based in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is one of the oldest iron and steel manufacturers in China and has a major plant located in Baotou. It is also the country's biggest scientific research and production center for rare earth metals.
Baogang Group is actively participating in the digital transformation of the manufacturing industry and the construction of "Digital Inner Mongolia".
So far, the company has built an enterprise private cloud platform, and has launched three major internet application platforms for e-procurement, e-commerce sales and logistics. It also promotes pilot applications of intelligent manufacturing such as robots, unmanned storage, and intelligent inspection.
It has facilitated the construction of 5G smart mines in Bayan Obo mining district, and developed the first application of unmanned mining vehicles based on 5G network conditions in China, and even the world.
