Baotou customs promotes single window service platform
Baotou customs in Inner Mongolia autonomous region has worked to extend the standardized version of the single window service platform for international trade to optimize the business environment.
Now 100 percent of customs business can be handled via the single window system. A total of 739 projects have been handled on the platform.
The single window platform consists of various functions including the declaration of cargo, cargo manifests, transportation, enterprise qualifications, certificates of origin and licensing, payment of taxes and fees, and inquiries.
"The single window platform is continuing to be improved. The newly added inquiry function for the inspection and quarantine certificate for inbound cargo has enabled us to apply for the electronic certificate online instead of applying for a paper one on site, which improves efficiency and reduces costs," said Ma Yujie, a customs specialist at a local international forwarding company.
The Baotou customs authority has promoted the coverage of the single window platform to offer "single window" and "one-stop" services and facilitate cross-border trade.
Meanwhile, the customs authority has enhanced policy promotion and training to popularize the platform, which now covers over 100 foreign-trade enterprises in Baotou. Through its hotline, on-site help center, online platform and WeChat, Baotou customs has solved more than 200 consultations and collected 14 suggestions for platform optimization to ensure the smooth operation of the platform.
