The city of Baotou – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – held the 2022 Spring Investment Promotion Project Centralized Signing Conference on March 3.
Twenty-seven projects covering 11 industrial fields – including non-metallic materials, equipment manufacturing, hydrogen energy and industry chain, trade and logistics, resource recycling, and modern agriculture – were signed both on-site and online, with total investment of 69.74 billion yuan ($11.04 billion).
Mayor Zhang Rui presided over the event, with municipal government leaders and representatives from government departments of banners, counties, districts, and the Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone attending.
Zhang said that in recent years, Baotou has regarded investment promotions as the key to speeding up its high-quality development, harnessing the city's dynamic nature to do a great job in attracting capital and projects.
Moving forwards, plans are for the city to connect extensively with various chambers of commerce, industry alliances and businesses. The city is expected to make vigorous efforts to attract more of the world's top 500 companies, the domestic top 500, the top 500 private enterprises, and cutting-edge companies in industry.
Moreover, the city said it will aim to promote the transformation of investment attraction from "single project, single enterprise" to "building a complete industrial chain and promoting the development of industrial clusters".
In addition, plans are for the city to continue to launch new policies for high-quality development – while maintaining stability and innovative measures in place, to optimize the commercial ecosystem – so as to provide entrepreneurs with the best pro-business environment, efficient services and preferential policies for their investment in Baotou.
